Capacity Europe is a major international event all about the digital infrastructure that keeps the world connected — think of the networks and technologies behind your internet, apps, cloud storage, video calls, and even streaming services like Netflix and TikTok.

Every year, more than 3,500 professionals from all over the world come to London for three days to share ideas, do business, and talk about the future of connectivity. People attending come from some of the biggest and most exciting companies in tech and telecoms — including Space X, Google, Meta, Netflix, BT, TikTok, and many others.

Now in its second year, the Talent Programme is designed especially for Year 12 and Year 13 students and university students to give them a real-life glimpse into what careers in this fast-moving industry look like.

Students taking part will:

• Attend inspiring talks and mentoring sessions with people who work in tech, telecoms, and digital business
   
• Take part in skills-based workshops to help build confidence and communication
   
• Go on a guided tour of the exhibition hall, where global companies will be showcasing their latest ideas and technologies
   
• Sit in on conference sessions where experts will be discussing the future of AI, sustainability, cybersecurity, and more
   
• Get a chance to ask questions, explore career paths, and make meaningful connections with people working in the field

This is more than a school trip — it’s a chance to:

• Discover career paths they might never have heard of
   
• Learn how subjects like computing, business, maths, or science link to real jobs
   
• Build awareness of the kind of companies and roles that are shaping the future
   
• Connect with professionals and ask questions in a friendly, informal setting
   
• Get inspired about what’s possible after school – whether that’s uni, apprenticeships, or something else entirely

In 2024, the programme ran in partnership with:

• The National Centre for Computing Education – helping schools and teachers bring computing to life
   
• The University of Greenwich – supporting pathways from education into careers
   
• thePower Education – an online school backed by business leaders from Netflix, YouTube, and Tesla
