Peter McCarthy is CEO of Speed Fibre Group, Ireland’s leading digital infrastructure platform comprising Enet and Magnet+. With over 25 years in senior leadership and 18 years at CEO level, Peter has extensive experience scaling infrastructure businesses and driving international expansion across telecoms, utilities, and digital technology.

In telecoms, he has played a central role in major growth strategies, from Digicel’s international expansion to strategic sales and acquisitions at Esat Telecom. At Speed Fibre Group, Peter has overseen six years of consistent growth, doubling revenues while building Ireland’s largest alternative wholesale network.

Today, the Group operates 10,000 km of fibre, connecting 94 towns and cities and serving more than one million end users through 100+ service providers. Peter is focused on network expansion and optimisation, with a particular emphasis on automation and the evolution of fibre technologies to ensure networks remain fit for purpose in a rapidly changing market.
