Panel: From competition to collaboration: telcos and hyperscalers at a crossroads

There is a shift happening in the dynamics between hyperscalers and telcos. In the subsea arena, it has become virtually unheard of to build a submarine cable system without hyperscalers being involved. The capacity of new systems is far greater, allowing hyperscalers to sell excess capacity on routes that weren't previously considered commercially viable. Equally, carriers, IXPs and data centre operators are vying to form strategic partnerships, rather than act in competition, thus enhancing their own service offering and Value-added services for customers. This panel will explore what role telcos should play going forward, and the opportunities and potential risks of the changing status quo.
